TIME to Protect Your Retirement from Socialism

In this week’s Hidden Wealth Review, I want to give you some good news at the end of what’s been a week of very dismal news. I classify everything that’s going on right now into four core areas. I use the acronym TIME, which I write about in my books.

Taxes — The current congressional spending spree is on track to add $10 trillion of deficit spending in just under two years. Clearly, a number of new changes and higher taxes are needed in order to pay for all this spending. Raising capital gain taxes, states creating their own new taxes such as: state capital gain taxes, higher income taxes, reduced deductions for retirement contributions, capping retirement savings account rules proposals, etc. The socialism focused approach is causing a confusing soup sandwich for our economy.

Inflation — The price of real estate, rent, gasoline and groceries are heading up at the fastest pace since tracking inflation began. Gas prices are up 50% from a year ago. These are not just temporary price increases, these added costs are here to stay for awhile. Inflation rose 5.4% in the recent July report. In the same period, wages rose just 4%. Clearly, people are headed backwards against inflation.

Market Volatility —  The rumors of stimulus tapering, Federal Reserve interest rate increases, fears of runaway inflation and new mask mandates are all causing massive swings in the stock market. It’s much easier (and faster) to lose money in the market than it is to make that money back. Economic Uncertainty — From the disaster in Afghanistan to spiking COVID numbers, the track record of this administration has been simply pathetic.
